What is KIDFIT?

Keeping IDeal Cardiovascular Health Family Intervention Trial (KIDFIT

KIDFIT is a clinical research project comprised of the children and their moms recruited from the Maternal Offspring Metabolics Family Intervention Trial (MOMFIT). The goal of KIDFIT is to study how best to help children, mothers and families develop and maintain healthy diet and other lifestyle behaviors that will reduce risk of pediatric obesity and foster ideal cardiovascular health in early childhood. The effects of healthy lifestyle behaviors in preschool-age KIDFIT children on their cognitive and neural development will also be evaluated.

KIDFIT is funded by the American Heart Association Strategically Focused Children’s Research Network. This study is conducted at the Department of Preventive Medicine, Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois.
